The aim of County Galway Motor Club CLG is to provide its members, non-members, visitors, spectators, officials and all others with a safe, fun environment to enjoy motorsport safety.
To ensure the above is effective there must be some ground rules with regards to acceptable / unacceptable behaviour. This will pertain to all events whether our own or run by another club. Or if the participant is representing the club in any way, i.e identifying clothing or logos. These rules are in addition to those laid out on Motorsport Irelands General Code of Conduct.
Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every individual as a human being.
Treat everyone equally regardless of sex, disability, ethnic origin, or religion.
Respect the talent, development stage, and goals of each member.
Maintain ambitious standards of integrity.
Operate within the rules of Motorsport and in the spirit of fair play.
Advocate an environment free of drugs and other performance – enhancing substances within the guidelines of the Sport Ireland Anti-Doping Rules.
Display expected standards in your language, manner, and preparation.
Display control, courtesy, respect, honestly, dignity, and professionalism to all involved within the sphere of motorsport.
Be professional and accept responsibility for your actions.
Refrain from “un-sportsman” like driving and actions.
Refrain from criticism of other clubs, spectators, or members.
Refrain from any form of verbal, physical or emotional abuse towards members.
Refrain from any form of sexual or racial harassment, whether verbal or physical.
Do not harass abuse or discriminate against members based on their sex, marital status, sexual orientation, religious or ethical beliefs, race, colour, ethnic origins, employment status, disability, or distinguishing characteristics.
If any club member causes an undue disgrace towards the club whether at events or outside if they action may be taken to remove them from participation or from the club permanently.
Consider the wellbeing and safety of all participants.
Develop an appropriate relationship with members, based on mutual trust and respect.
Display consistently high standards of behaviour.
Follow all guidelines laid down by the national governing body and the club.
Never exert undue influence over participants to obtain personal benefit or reward.
Never condone rule violation, “rough play” on track or the use or prohibited substances.
Encourage and guide members to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour.
